The story behind Thalgo
André Bouclet, a French pharmacist, was passionate about the marine world and convinced it would be the source of great therapeutic and cosmetic discoveries. Supported by the work of René Quinton, a biologist who scientifically established the therapeutic virtues of seawater, Bouclet went on to discover a unique, revolutionary procedure to adapt algae-concentrated sea salts to the skin. This process, patented in 1966, is called ‘micronisation’ and is unique to Thalgo. This passion for the marine universe and scientific expertise led to the creation of the Thalgo brand.
